Our Commitment

The Sequoia Collective, LLC, doing business as Sequoia Advanced Systems ("SEQAV"), is committed to ensuring that our website and digital materials are accessible to people with disabilities. We believe that access to information about our capabilities, platforms, and services should not depend on how a person perceives, navigates, or interacts with the web.

Accessibility is not a one-time project for us. It is an ongoing part of how we design, build, and maintain seqav.com.

Conformance Standard

We are working to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium. WCAG 2.1 Level AA is the standard most commonly referenced by United States courts, by the Department of Justice under the Americans with Disabilities Act, and by federal and state procurement authorities. Where practical, we also incorporate success criteria from WCAG 2.2 Level AA.

Current status: partially conformant. "Partially conformant" means that some parts of the site may not yet fully meet every applicable success criterion. We describe known gaps in the section below and are actively working to close them.

Measures We Take

To support accessibility across seqav.com, we:

• build pages with semantic HTML and a logical heading structure
• provide text alternatives for meaningful images, diagrams, and capability graphics
• maintain color contrast ratios that meet or exceed WCAG 2.1 Level AA minimums
• ensure all interactive elements — navigation, forms, buttons, media controls — are operable by keyboard alone, with a visible focus indicator
• label all form fields programmatically and pair error messages with the fields they describe
• avoid conveying information through color, shape, or position alone
• support text resizing to 200% without loss of content or function
• avoid automatically playing audio or video, and provide controls where media is present
• test with screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, and automated tooling as part of our release process
• include accessibility requirements in our agreements with design, development, and content vendors

We do not rely on automated accessibility overlay widgets. Overlays do not remediate underlying code, and in our judgment they do not substitute for accessible design and development.

Known Limitations

Despite our efforts, some content may not yet be fully accessible. Known limitations include:

• PDF documents and capability statements. Some older downloadable documents may not be fully tagged for screen reader navigation. We are remediating these on a rolling basis. An accessible alternative format is available on request.
• Technical diagrams and system schematics. Complex engineering and mission-configuration diagrams may not have complete long-form text descriptions. We will provide a narrative description on request.
• Third-party embedded content. Maps, video players, forms, and analytics provided by third parties may not fully conform to WCAG 2.1 Level AA. We select vendors with accessibility in mind but do not control their code.
• Legacy media. Some archival video content may lack captions or audio description.

Our response commitment. We aim to acknowledge accessibility reports within two business days and to provide a substantive response, including a remediation plan or timeline, within ten business days. Where immediate remediation is not feasible, we will offer an alternative means of accessing the information or completing the transaction at no additional cost.

Alternative access. Any information available on this site — including capability descriptions, specifications, quote requests, and inquiry submission — is available by phone, email, or mail. No one should have to use this website to do business with us.

Accessibility in Our Client Work

SEQAV serves environmental, infrastructure, public safety, and maritime clients, many of which are public agencies or contractors delivering to public agencies. Accessibility obligations follow those deliverables.

Where SEQAV produces reports, dashboards, mapping outputs, inspection documentation, or monitoring interfaces intended for use or publication by a federal, state, or local government client, we work with the client to align those deliverables with the standard applicable to that client — including Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act and its Revised 508 Standards, Title II of the ADA and the Department of Justice’s web and mobile application rule, and, for California state executive branch agencies, California Government Code § 7405 and Assembly Bill 434. Accessibility requirements for a specific engagement are established in the applicable contract, task order, or statement of work.

Clients with accessibility requirements for a proposed engagement should raise them early. We would rather scope for them than retrofit.

Legal Framework

This statement is provided in the context of, and without waiving any rights or defenses under, the following:

• Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Titles II and III, 42 U.S.C. § 12101 et seq.
• Section 504 and Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, 29 U.S.C. §§ 794, 794d
• California Unruh Civil Rights Act, California Civil Code § 51 et seq., which guarantees full and equal access to the accommodations, advantages, facilities, privileges, and services of all business establishments in California, and which incorporates violations of the ADA by reference
• California Disabled Persons Act, California Civil Code §§ 54 – 54.3
• California Government Code § 7405 and § 11546.7 (AB 434), applicable to California state entities
• California Government Code § 11135, prohibiting disability discrimination in state-funded programs and activities

Nothing in this statement constitutes an admission of non-compliance with any law, an acknowledgment of any barrier, or a waiver of any defense. This statement describes our good-faith efforts and our process for addressing accessibility concerns.

Assessment and Review

Our accessibility approach includes:

• automated scanning integrated into our development workflow
• manual keyboard-only and screen reader testing on primary user paths, including the contact and newsletter forms
• review of new templates and components before release
• annual review of this statement, or sooner following a substantial redesign

Continuous Improvement

We treat accessibility as ongoing maintenance rather than a completed milestone. As we expand this site — adding platform documentation, mission configuration tools, customer portals, or data products — accessibility requirements are built into the specification rather than added afterward.
